***ANY resemblance to any other tutorial/tag is purely coincidental & COMPLETELY unintentional!!***
Here is what we are going to be making :
Supplies Needed :
Paint Shop Pro X2 (Any version should work)
Scrapkit - Beach Daze By IDontGiveAScrap @ Scraps From The Heart
Plugins Used :
Eye Candy 4000 Gradient Glow (Optional)
Eye Candy 5 Impact - Glass (Optional)
Elements Used :
Message Bottle
Sail Boat
Whale
Life Saver
Anchor
Light House
Dolphin
Dolphin
Paper 7
Lets Begin :
Start by opening a 1000 X 650 canvas. (Yes I know that is rather large but you want to make sure you have enough room to work with everything without having it look shrunk to much. Remember you can still crop & re-size if needed at the end.)
Now activate your text tool by clicking on it, then set your font, size & color, the font I used is :
Impact
Size : 150 Pixels
Color : #357399
(You can chose whatever font, size & color you would like, mine is only an example :-)
Now click on your canvas, then your text box will open, type out the name you want on your tag.
Once you have done that, click apply.
Now center your name on your canvas.
Go to your layers pallet, right click on your name layer & click Convert To Raster Layer.
Now go to Effects - Plugins - Eye Candy 4000 - Gradient Glow.
Now set your settings as desired.
Once you have applied your Gradient Glow, go to Effects, click 3D Effects - Drop Shadow.
Click Ok.
Now activate your Magic Wand tool, click inside each letter that is in your name. Once all letters are selected go to Effects - Plugins - Eye Candy 5 Impact - Glass.
Set your settings as you wish & click Ok.
Now keeping your letters selected go to Adjust, click Add/Remove Noise - Add Noise, then set it to uniform, 30 & also make sure your Monochrome box IS checked!
Click Ok.
Now go to Selections & click Select None.
Now open your Message Bottle element, copy & paste it as a new layer onto your canvas, then re-size it to 50%. Then use your move tool to center it with your name.
Apply a drop shadow to your message bottle.
Open your Sail Boat element - Copy & paste it as a new layer onto your canvas ,then re-size it to 20%, then re-size it again to 35%. Use your move tool to position your Sail Boat to the left side of your name.
Apply a drop shadow.
Open your Whale element - Copy & paste it as a new layer onto your canvas ,then re-size it to 30%. Then re-size it again to 40%. Now go to Image & click Mirror.
Position your whale element so that it appears to be coming out of the water.
Apply a light drop shadow if you wish.
Open your Life Saver element - Copy & paste it as a new layer onto your canvas, then re-size it to 30%. Now re-size it to 50%. Then re-size again to 80%.
Position your element to the right end of your name.
Go to Adjust, click Sharpness, then click Sharpen.
Apply a drop shadow.
Open your Anchor element - Copy & paste it as a new layer onto your canvas ,then re-size it to 20% & then again to 30%. Now position to the right end of your name.
Sharpen & apply a drop shadow.
Open your Lighthouse element - Copy & paste it as a new layer onto your canvas, then re-size it to 50%, then again to 70%. Now position your Lighthouse center with your name.
In your layers pallet, move your Lighthouse layer down below your name layer.
Sharpen & apply a slight drop shadow to your lighthouse element.
Now in your layers pallet, click on the very last layer in the pallet,
Open Paper 7, copy & paste it as a new layer onto your canvas,
Then apply a mask of your choice.
For the mask I used, I applied my mask, then went to my layers pallet & right clicked on my mask layer, then clicked Merge, then Merge Group.
Once I merged my mask as a group I re-sized my mask to around 70% & positioned it to the left on my canvas.
Then in my layers pallet I right clicked on my Mask layer & click Duplicate.
Then I took my move tool & moved my duplicated mask layer to the right.
Now my tag appears to have clouds above my Lighthouse :-)
Now apply your copyright/credit information.
If you would like to make this tag for your friends or family, you will want to save it at this point as a PSPIMAGE. That way it will be saved in layers so that you can delete the name & type out another & apply the same effects :-)
Then go to your layers pallet, right click on any layer, then click Merge, then click Merge Visible from the slide out menu.
Now activate your crop tool, crop off any access canvas that you did not use.
Now you may want to re-size your completed tag before you save it.
After I re-size an element or a completed tag, I always give it one more sharpen. So if you would like to just go to Adjust, click Sharpness, then click Sharpen! :-)
Now save your tag as a PNG & you have completed this tutorial!
