♥Candy Girl Forum Set PTU♥

Here is what we will be making :

Please keep in mind that all of my tutorials are made using my own Ditzy noggin, any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental!**

Avatar :

Banner :
(Click on the banner to see it full size, I apologize that some of it got cute off !)

Supplies Needed :
PaintShop Pro X2 (Any version will work)

Tube Of Choice : I used the beautiful artwork of Zlata_M @ Pics For Design
Scrap Kit Candy Girl  By Tammy @ Tammy's Scraps

Elements Used From Kit :
Elements 78, 107, 108, 58,

Papers Used From Kit :
Paper 8
Lets Begin :

Open a new 650x250 image (Transparent)

Go to Selections, click Select All.
Make a new raster layer.
Open Paper 8, copy & paste it "INTO Selection"

Now on your keyboard use your Shift & d keys to deselect. (Or you can go to Selections and click Select none)

Now lets open your tube of choice,
In your layers pallet, click on your Paper 8 layer, go to Selections, click Select All, back to Selections click Float, back to Selections Click Defloat.

Now copy & paste your tube as a new layer, position it to the right of your canvas, then go to Selections and click Invert, then on your keyboard hit your Delete key 1 time. Then again on your keyboard use you Shift & d key to deselect.

On your tube layer in your layers pallet, right click, click duplicate, then on your duplicated layer go to Adjust, click on Blur, then click Gaussian Blur, set it to 10.00. Then change the blend mod to Overlay.
On your original tube layer add a drop shadow.

Open Element 78, copy & paste as a new layer, Re-size it to 20%, then re-size it again to 80%. Now go to Image, then click Free Rotate, set it to Right 25.00, then click ok, go to Image again, and click Free Rotate it again at the same settings as before. Once you have it re-sized & rotated twice, use your move tool and position it to the left of your canvas, add a drop shadow.
Now making sure you are still on your Element 78 layer in your layers pallet, right click on it and click Duplicate , then go to Image, and click Mirror, now you will have to butterflies (Element 78) so position one on the left and one towards the right being careful not to cover your tubes face.

Now open Element 107, Copy & paste it as a new layer onto your canvas, re-size it to 10%. Using your move tool, position your element 107 to the right of your tag. Go to Adjust, click Sharpness, then click Sharpen. Add a drop shadow.

Now Open Element 108, follow the step above only change being you need to position it to the left of your tag.

Now in your layers pallet right click on your Element 107, click Duplicate, then go to Image, and click Mirror. Then go to Image again, click Flip. Now follw the same directions for your Element 108 layer.

Lets open Element 58, BEFORE you copy & paste itgo to Image and click Flip. Now copy & paste it as a new layer onto your canvas, and position it at the very bottom (See my tag for reference).
Now copy & paste that same element again (Element 58) only this time, once you copy & paste it onto your canvas as a new layer, go to Image, click on Free Rotate, set it to Right 90.00. Click Ok.
Positon this part to the left side of your tag. Now go back to your original Element 58, click Undo 1 time (that will make it go back to the way it was when you opened it). Now copy and paste it onto your canvas as a new layer, and position it at the top of your tag.
Now copy & paste your Element 58 one more time, this time after you have it pasted onto your canvas, go to Image, click Free Rotate set it to Right 90.00 and position like mine.

Now because we didn't re-size anything we want to make sure when we upload our tag that we don't have those longer pieces hanging off our tag, so click on your crop tool, then at the top where your settings are for your Crop tool, you will see where it says "Snap Crop Rectangle To:" Then it gives you 3 choices, you want the last one ("Merged Opaque). Click that and it will set the crop for you so it only crops off anything over your tag size. :-)
Now at your layers pallet,  go to the last Element 58 layer we applied and right click on it, then click Merge, then on the slide out menu click Merge Down. Do this until ALL 4 of your Element 58 layers are merged into one.

Once you have them all merged together (the 4 element 58 layers) and you are on your merged layer go to Adjust, click on Sharpness, then click Sharpen. Then go to Effects, click on 3D, then click on Drop Shadow, and add a small shadow to it.

Now lets add our border.
Click on the last layer in your layers pallet, go to Selections, click Select All, then go to  Selections again, then go to Modify, and click Contract, set your Number Of Pixels to 4, and click Ok.

Then go to Selections again, this time click on Invert. Now you need to make a New Raster Layer, and choose a color you want your border to be, so in your materials pallet, chose a color, I chose Black (#FFFFFF)
Now get your Paint Bucket tool, and make sure in your layers pallet you are on your New Raster Layer, and then with your Paint bucket tool click in between the 2 marching ants lines.
Then on your keyboard, use Ctrl & d to deselect.
Now add a slight drop shadow.

Once you have that done it is time to add our name, and any copyright/credit information that is required.

Once you have all that done, go to your layers pallet and click on the NAME layer, Now get your Magic Wand tool, and click inside EACH letter of the name that you used. Once all letters have been selected go to Effects > Click 3D > Then click > Inner Bevel, using the settings below (or if you have your own personal settings thats fine too )

Then click Ok.

Once you have that all done, Open Element 96, and copy & paste it onto your canvas as a new layer, then re-size it to 40%, and using your move tool position it to the left on your tag. Then in your layers pallet, on your Element 96 layer, right click, then click Duplicate, and then go to Image, and click Mirror. That will put the duplicated layer on the right side of the tag for you, but you might have to position it a little if it is covering important parts of your tubes face. Once you have it where you want it, go back to that layer in your layers pallet, and right click and click Duplicate one more time, now using your move tool, position this 3rd layer in the middle of your tag to where ever you would like it. :-)

Now all we have to do is merge all of our layers, so go to your layers pallet, right click on any layer, then click Merge, then on the slide out menu click Merge Visible.

Re-size your tag if you need to, you can either go to Image, then click Re-size, or you can use the Shift & S keys on your keyboard, and it will open the re-size menu and you put in your settings and click ok!

Now after merging all my layers, and re-sizing, I always sharpen my tag again, you can do this if you want, but you do not have to. It is just my own personal preference. But if you would like to, just go to Adjust, click Sharpness, then click Sharpen and your done!

Save your tag as png!!

AVATAR

Now we are going to make the avatar :

Open a new 150 x 200 canvas.

Go to Selections, click Select All, then make a new raster layer,
Then open Paper #8, copy & paste it "INTO Selection".
On your keyboard use your Ctrl & d keys to deselect.

Now open your Tube, now we will re-size the tube if you are using the same tube I am you can follow my settings if you would like, but if you are using a different tube, you will need to re-size it according the what you need or want which my settings may not work for. But again if you have the same tube, re-size your tube to 85%, then re-size it again to 85%, and then re-size it again to 80%. (Remember the quick way to bring up your Re-size menu is to use your Shift & S keys on your keyboard)

Once your tube is re-sized  go to Selections, and then click on invert, then on your keyboard hit your delete key 1 time, then use your Ctrl & d keys to deselect.

Now in your layers pallet, right click on your tube layer, then click Duplicate, on your duplicated layer go to Adjust, click Blur then click Gaussian Blur and set your settings to 3.00. now go back to your layers pallet still on your duplicated tube layer, change your blend mode to Screen, then on your original tube layer give it a drop shadow.

Now lets add our border, go to the bottom layer in your layers pallet, Go to Selections, click on Modify, then click Contract, set your Number Of Pixels to 4, then click ok.

Go back to Selections, click Invert, now go to Layers and make a New Raster Layer, and then go to your Materials pallet and choose the color you would like for your border. I again used black to match my tag . So using your Paint Bucket, click in between the 2 marching ant lines, then on your keyboard use your Ctrl & d keys to deselect.
Now in your layers pallet click on your border layer and drag it to the top of your layers pallet.

Now you can add your name & copyright/credit information.

Now Open element 96, copy & paste it as a new layer onto your canvas, re-size it to 40% and position how you would like it.

All we need to do now is merge all of our layers, so go to your layers pallet, right click on any layer, and click Merge, then on the slide out menu click Merge Visible.
Save your tag as png!!

Thanks so much for trying my tutorial, as always I would LOVE to see what you have made. So please send me anything you make using my tutorials. I would be happy to display them on my blog!
